Can you believe it’s time for the June prayer calendar?
2017 is flying by, y’all! FLYING. And summer always seems to pass far too quickly for my liking so I bet it will feel like no time before I’m sharing the July calendar.
June Prayer Calendar: Encouraged to Act
We’re wrapping up our three-month focus—ENCOURAGE. We’ve prayed for our daughters to be encouraging to others and for them to be encouraged to learn and grow. As a mom, I want my girl to know the joy of being an encourager and of being encouraged. One of our most important roles in their lives is to model that sort of encouragement to them. As we speak into our girls’ lives, we will have the joy of watching them speak into the lives of others.
It’s time for the final calendar for this quarter and it’s the one I’ve been most excited about. We all know it’s not enough to know what we need to do and how we should behave as believers—we have to take action on what we know.
But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was. But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer who works — this person will be blessed in what he does.
James 1:22-25 CSB
My favorite calendars are always the ones where we dig into one book and spend a month (or longer) praying through the verses. And that’s exactly what we’re doing in June. James is one of my favorite books and I’m looking forward to spending a month using it as a guide to pray for our girls to be encouraged to put what they know into action in their lives.
Study with me
And, if you want to dig a little deeper into these 108 verses, you can join me for #SummerBibleStudy. I’ll be teaching through the book starting June 1 and wrapping up July 20. I’ve taught James several times and it never fails to challenge and inspire me. I’d love for you to join me. And the best part is, it’s all online so no matter what your schedule is, you can be a part! Get more information and sign up here.
June is going to be a great month … and you know I’m excited about July. (Did you see I received the first copy of Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most? It’s still surreal.)
If you haven’t, this is a great time to join the thousands of moms who use these prayer calendars every month to pray for their daughters. It’s super easy to sign up (and once you do it, be sure to join our Facebook community—#girlMOMS!). Just fill out the form below and then confirm your email address. Easy peasy.
Just out of curiosity, what is one of your favorite books of the Bible?
