What do you include in your daughter’s Easter basket?
It’s easy to walk into Target and load the cart with candy, stickers, and trinkets. Even for my big girl, I can always find plenty of “stuff” to tuck in her Easter basket. But one of my desires as a mom has been to make sure we keep the focus at Easter on the real meaning of the day — the hope and joy we have in the Resurrected Christ.
Each year Casiday’s Easter basket is built around one big item which is intended to mark an important stage in her spiritual life or encourage her growth in the year ahead. One year we gave her a beautiful pearl bracelet with a cross on it to mark her profession of faith since the previous Easter. We have also given her Bibles over the years as well as devotionals, journals, and other resources for her to dig into the Word or pursue a deeper faith.
The centerpiece of her Easter basket each year usually falls into one of three categories: jewelry, Bibles, or resources. So, I thought I’d share some suggestions in each of these categories for little girls, tweens, and teens.

Little Girls:
- Jesus Loves Me Cuff Bracelet — I love this little bracelet. What a sweet way to remind your little darling how precious she is to Jesus.
- Gold Tiny Cross Necklace — This Lisa Leonard necklace is the perfect gift to mark your daughter’s growing understanding of what Easter really means.
- The Jesus Storybook Bible, Gift Edition — I can’t believe The Jesus Storybook Bible has been available for ten years. While we never added one of these to Casiday’s Easter basket (she was a little bit too old when it first came out), we have all definitely enjoyed the beautiful illustrations and powerful storytelling that points to Jesus.
- He Is Risen Color-Your-Own Cross with Markers — What a fun way to talk with your daughter about why we celebrate Easter! (Also, if you have a large family gathering for Easter dinner, you might want to check out the Color-Your-Own Placemats. Super cute!)
- Jesus Is Alive Children’s Activity Set — This set is includes a puzzle, coloring pad, and activity book and is another fun way to engage your daughter in a conversation about the reason Easter is so important to us as believers.
Tweens:
- By Grace Alone Necklace — Another Lisa Leonard necklace, this one is perfect for the tween in your home. During this often tumultuous season of life when our girls can feel like they are only accepted based what they wear or how they perform, this necklace is a great way to remind your daughter it is grace alone that makes us worthy of salvation.
- Loved Wear-One-Share-One Necklace Set — I love these Wear One, Share One necklace sets! And even though she may act too cool for a mother-daughter set of anything, she won’t be able to ignore this adorable necklace and the reminder she is loved — both by God and by you!
- FaithGirlz Bible — I mentioned we have often given Bibles to Casiday over the years. I love this FaithGirlz Bible for tweens. With great study helps as well as quizzes, suggested memory verses, and many other tween-friendly features, this would be an awesome centerpiece for your daughter’s Easter basket this year.
- FaithGirlz Journal: My Doodles, Dreams, and Devotions — Most girls love journals … and they really love cute journals. So why not give your daughter a beautiful journal as a place for her to record what she’s learning, where she’s struggling, and how God is working in and around her.
- Real Girls of the Bible: 31 Day Devotional — By this age, your daughter may be doing her devotions on her own and finding great resources for her is important to you, right? I love this devotion that explores 31 stories about girls from Scripture and identifies how each one navigated difficult situations. Definitely a tool our tween girls can use!
Teens:
- Grace Wear-One-Share-One Necklace Set — This Wear One, Share One set is the one I’m leaning toward getting for my daughter this year. We both need the reminder of His sufficient grace.
- His Word in My Heart Pendant Necklace — However, this necklace is also a serious contender! I love it a lot … and I think it would a great way to encourage my girl to continue in her faithfulness of reading the Word.
- ESV Single Column Journaling Bible — I’m a huge Bible journaling fan and many of the college-aged girls in our church love doing it as well. But, even if your daughter isn’t one who wants to draw and hand-letter these devotional Bibles are an awesome way for her to record what she is learning in her quiet times.
- A Beautiful Heart Journal — A journal is always a good gift, I think. And this one is adorable!
- Illustrated Faith “A Heart that Receives” Devotional Kit — If she’s at all interested in Bible journaling, this set would make a great starting point. Every piece is adorable and the devotional guide is excellent. Even if she doesn’t want to use the materials in her Bible, she might enjoy creating pages in her journal using these tools.
Family Resources:
If you are looking for a way to include your whole family in a conversation about the meaning of Easter, these are two of my favorite resources.
A Sense of the Resurrection — Created by my dear friend and former children’s ministry (and fellow girl mom) Amanda White, A Sense of the Resurrection: an Easter Experience for Families contains 12 fun, hands-on, easy, meaningful activities to help your kids come face to face with the Easter story. It’s easy enough for all-ages, but meaningful enough for parents and kids to have a new understanding and appreciation of the greatest gift God gave us–Jesus, his sacrifice, resurrection and eternal friendship!
Resurrection Eggs Activity Set — Our church in Georgia used the Resurrection Eggs every year at our annual Easter Egg hunt to share the gospel with everyone in attendance. We also gave away a set to each family who joined us for worship on Easter Sunday morning. This is one of my favorite ways to help children grasp the big picture of the Easter story.

I love this!
I wish I would have seen it earlier. Last year each of my children got a bible geared towards their age group, I didn’t want to repeat the same thing this year though.
This year the older two are getting a busy books sermon notes journal and the youngest is getting an inspirational coloring book for girls.
I love the idea of jewelry for the girls, but I have not found many equivalent options for boys. (As I have two girls and a boy).
I also really like the Bible journaling devotional, but after looking online, these also look very female centered (which is not bad, but I wish that there was another style for guys to be creative during devotion).
My children are not quite old enough for that style devotional yet, so maybe something new will come out before I get to that stage.
I did find a doodle through the Bible devotional which looked decent for my little guy and I will consider it for next year.
Sorry for rambling. Thank you for this round up of great ideas
I think boys are harder! Thank you for sharing what you do, super helpful!
