Can you believe Christmas is over … and 2017 is less than a week away? This year truly flew by, didn’t it?
As we look ahead to 2017, we’ll be covering a few big themes starting with CONNECTION in January, February, and March. I’m excited about what is coming in the new year for this space and I know you’ll be encouraged and equipped as you pray for your daughter alongside us.
The January theme is CONNECTING THROUGH THE WORD.
For the first time, we’ll be focused on praying WITH our girls not just for them. And, I’ve created a prayer and discussion guide to accompany the January calendar. It’s a simple way for you to engage your daughter in conversation and prayer. Every day has a Scripture reading, space for you to write a prayer with your daughter, and a conversation starter. I can’t imagine anything better than starting a new year with 31 days of praying through Scripture WITH our girls, can you?
Subscribe now if you haven’t and you can download your copy of the calendar and discussion guide so you’ll be all ready to start on January 1st! If you haven’t already subscribed (it’s simple to sign up and it’s free!), you can do so by filling out the form below. Super easy and the only way to get the prayer calendars each month.
We’ll be back to posting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting next week. And we already have some great guest posts and giveaways scheduled for January. So be sure to subscribe for the calendars AND the blog posts. I send out the post links on Saturday morning which is super helpful for those of you (like me) who like to spend a little time on the weekends catching up on all the blog reading for the week. 🙂
Thank you so much for being a part of the Prayers for Girls community. When I think about everything 2016 brought, let me assure you, the moms who are praying every day for their girls alongside me are truly one of the sweetest gifts.
We’ve had such an incredible year here in this space, haven’t we?
We started 2016 by praying through Proverbs and we are wrapping up our last month of prayers earnestly seeking that our girls will know Jesus in so many different ways. I was trying to think about what my favorite calendar was … and the truth is, I loved all of them. But, I especially loved June, when we prayed for our daughters to have characteristics we found in 30 different women in Scripture. We also spent two months (July and September) praying through the first sixty Psalms. (Don’t worry! We’ll be praying more of them in 2017!)
2016 also brought several new writers here at Prayers for Girls. And I’m deeply thankful for the wisdom and encouragement they have offered to all of us, aren’t you? We’ll be adding some more writers and giving YOU the opportunity to share your words on the blog in 2017 so be sure to watch for more information about that coming in January.
For me personally, the biggest thing was signing the contract with Bethany House Publishers to write Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most. I turned in the manuscript on October 31 (the one year anniversary of Prayers for Girls!) and am excited about the book’s release in July 2017. I’ll be putting out the call for people to join the launch team … so make sure you’re subscribed so you get first chance to join!
