From the moment Prayers for Girls began I knew it was going to be more than just a monthly prayer calendar. I had all sorts of dreams and ideas. And slowly in the past eighteen months, many of them have come to fruition.
But there’s one big thing I dreamed of that we haven’t had — a community space.
Let’s face it, #girlMOMS need a place to sit and relax and share the highs and lows of our days.
Since Scott said it wasn’t really feasible to have you all come sit in our living room, I’ve been trying to come up with another idea. I’ve toyed with all sorts of options, like a membership site or doing regular Google hangouts.
But the bottom line is, I wanted to make it super easy for us to connect. I also wanted to create an online space that was private where we could share our hearts and know we are safe.
#girlMOMS need that you know.
After a lot of time searching for options, I realized the answer is right in front of me and it’s someplace we already are. That’s why I am happy to announce a brand new Facebook group beginning May 1.
#girlMOMS: a prayers for girls community will be open to all girl moms but we would really love for you to be getting the monthly prayers calendars! (subscribe here if you haven’t).
This closed group will give us a place to pray for one another, to encourage one another, and to equip ourselves for the realities of raising girls.
Sound good?? Here’s how you can join:
- Request invite to group. (There are a couple of questions for you to answer … just to help us make sure we keep our group a safe place!)
- Sign up for the prayer calendars if you haven’t.
Easy peasy, right?
And remember that survey asking about your biggest struggle as a Christian mom? So many of you answered and it helped me identify exactly what this group can be for all of us. So, here’s what you can expect:
Facebook Live sessions where we talk about real issues facing girl moms including the hard stuff we hate to even think about
Practical ideas for connecting with our daughters spiritually
Encouragement for finding time for your own personal spiritual growth
Tips for helping your children develop their own spiritual disciplines
It’s going to be awesome and I can’t wait to get started in just two weeks!!
